AmatyaPrivacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
Amatya is a chief of staff you talk to. You tell it what's going on, and it keeps track of your tasks and nudges you at the right time. To do that, it has to read and remember what you tell it. This page says what we keep, who helps us run Amatya, and what you can do about it. Amatya is made by Momentra Technologies Private Limited, in India.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. We get an identifier for your Apple account and, if you share it, your name. We don't ask Apple for your email address. We also keep your timezone, your quiet hours and what you'd like to be called. Your device gives us its timezone and a push notification address, so reminders reach it.
How we collect it
Only from you: what you type, say or attach in the app, the emails you forward to your own Amatya address, the buttons you tap, and the sign-in Apple gives us. We don't collect your location or contacts. The one thing we read from another app is your calendar, and only if you turn it on: the app sends when you are busy, never event titles, places or people. Turning it off deletes those busy times at once.
What you put into Amatya
Your messages, voice notes and their transcripts, and the photos and PDFs you send. From these, Amatya keeps your tasks, dates, routines and projects, and a memory of things about you that help it help you, like "prefers mornings for admin". It also notes what it sent you and what you did next, so it learns when a nudge helps and when to stay quiet. You can see your memory in the app, edit it, or tell Amatya to forget anything.
Your account has its own email address. Amatya takes an email sent to it only from an address you confirmed is yours; from a new address, it asks you first and drops the email if you say no. It keeps the email's subject, sender, date, text and attachments as a message from you, never the raw email, and it keeps the sender addresses you confirmed or refused. A new address from the app retires the old one at once.
Banks often lock statements with a password made from your details. To open them, Amatya keeps only the details you give it for this: your name as on bank records, date of birth, PAN, mobile number, a bank's customer ID, and the password that last opened a bank's PDFs. We keep them encrypted with a key for your account. Only the code that opens your PDFs uses them, and they are never sent to an AI service or written to our logs. When you share a locked PDF in the app, it opens on your device; we never get its password. You can see each detail, masked, under Locked PDFs in the app, and delete it.
How your information is used
Only to run Amatya for you: to understand what you send, keep your list, remind you on time, and decide when to speak up. We also use it to keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems you report.
AI services we share data with
Amatya uses AI models to understand what you send and to decide when to speak up. The app asks your permission before it sends anything to an AI service. If you say no, nothing is sent.
What is sent: your messages, your voice notes and their transcripts, the photos and PDFs you attach, the emails you forward, your tasks, routines and dates, what Amatya remembers about you, the name you gave, your timezone and quiet hours, and, if you turn the calendar on, when you are busy (never event titles). Each request sends only the part it needs. Your Apple account identifier is never sent.
Who gets it: an AI gateway receives each request and passes it to the third-party AI model provider that runs the model. We change and test models often, so this page describes the kind of provider rather than naming one. The app names each one on the consent screen, before anything is sent, and under "AI and your data" in the menu.
Why: only to run Amatya for you: to understand your messages and attachments, sort your tasks, remind you, and decide what to say.
How they protect it: we tell the gateway to use only providers that do not train AI models on your data. Each one processes it only to answer our request, under terms that give it the same or equal protection as this policy.
Your choice: you can stop at any time in the app, under "AI and your data" in the menu. Amatya then sends nothing more to an AI service.
What we never do
- Sell your data.
- Use your data to train AI models.
- Show ads, or include advertising or tracking SDKs.
- Put the text of your messages in our logs.
- Read your data without a reason. People at Amatya look at a user's data only to fix a problem that user reported, to investigate abuse or a security issue, or when the law requires it.
Who else is involved
A few service providers help us run Amatya: Apple, for Sign in with Apple, push notifications and app distribution; our cloud hosting provider, which runs our servers and stores the database and its backups; and a network provider that protects and delivers our traffic and receives the email you forward to Amatya. They process data only to provide their service to us. When you tell Amatya what you think of Amatya itself, a wish, praise or a problem, your words and your app's version also go to our team chat service, so a founder reads them. If you connect with another Amatya user to hand each other tasks, they see the tasks you hand them and those tasks' dates, nothing else. We disclose data when the law requires it.
The waitlist
If you leave your email on our website's waitlist, we keep that address and the date you left it. We use it only to send you an invite. It is not linked to an account, and no AI service sees it. To be taken off, write to hello@amatya.app.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is open. Delete your account from the app (on iPhone: the menu, then "…" next to your name, then Delete my account; on the Mac: Settings, then Delete Account). Your data leaves our live systems at once and our backups within 30 days, and your Apple sign-in is disconnected.
Your rights
You can see, correct and delete your data yourself in the app. You can also write to us to get a copy of it in a portable format, or to use any other right the law where you live gives you, such as under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, California's privacy laws, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. We answer within 30 days.
Where your data is processed
We're based in India. Our hosting provider and the AI services above may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where the law asks for safeguards on these transfers, we use them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is limited, and we keep backups. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll tell you.
Children
Amatya isn't meant for anyone under 13, or under 16 in the UK and the EU.
Contact and changes
Questions, a complaint, or an export or deletion request: hello@amatya.app. If our data practices change, we'll update this page and its effective date, and the app's App Store privacy label. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app first.
